HEADLINES: Blue zone collapse; Dem concerns; Trump at Davos
THE NEWS OF TODAY IS THE HISTORY OF TOMORROW
IN POLITICAL NEWS
1) A great column here by Chris Bray on blue zone collapse. Many of us have wondered, "how long can this keep goin' on" (with apologies to the band, "Ace")? Bray argues that the size of these cancerous blue zones prevents an implosion as one might see with a Vegas casino, but rather a slow, mind-numbing reduction in daily quality of life and government services that people are slow to respond to---a kind of boiled frog. He notes various towns around SF have seen their fire departments halved, police response time now up to 30 minutes, plus the constant un-repaired roads, while money consistently goes into administrators' pockets. Chris followed up with another column in the same vein, showing how Hennepin Co. (MN, naturally) County Hospital is collapsing with a $36 million deficit. In a letter to all employees, the administrator said they must find $50 million in the first quarter or close. Welp, ya got 11 weeks. This utter pigbladder of an administrator, when listing the hospital's mission, didn't say "Healing the sick." Oh no. Wanna guess? Yep, "ending disparities' in health care. Folks they are more concerned that everyone dies together than anyone lives.
2) CBS says Trump's approval among Republicans is 90%. It's the Communist Broadcasting System, so make it 97%. But hold on. I thought DemoKKKrats were going to win everything in November. Now The Hill (a DemoKKKrat mouthpiece) is warning that it may be entirely derailed by the Skinny Minny fraud? Meanwhile, I do NOT trust any poll, but this one is pretty devastating for DemoKKKrats. Oh, and DemoKKKrats are already dividing over Cackles, who is "eyeing" a 2028 presidential run. Look, it's her or the Amazing Zohran. She isn't radical enough for the chutescooters in fascist antifa or Black Looters Matter. So you're gonna get Zohran with a divided party;. Can you say President Vance with 360 electoral votes? I'm telling you, this is a serious rift in the DemoKKKrat Party and this Israel thing is one of the big divides is. Cackles had her staff investigate PA Gov. Josh "Slaphappy" Shapiro as an Israeli agent. Can you say the Nuremberg Nicky of the left?
3) I don't trust any poll, but for those of you who like polls, this one says Americans trust Rs more than DemoKKKrats on almost every issue.
4) Louisiana's governor Jeff Landry says his state's DOGE initiative has saved $1 billion already.
6) Elon Musk is closing in on a net worth of $800 billion.
7) An OR city has reversed its vote to allow a convicted murderer to sit on a police board.
8) Muy Macho Marco worked his Latin magic and sidelined the "War Powers Act."
9) President Trump will file a suit against JP Morgan Chase for debanking conservatives.
11) U-Haul statistics show people are now fleeing PA, with hits blue legislature and governor. Popular destinations are all red states: TX, NC, TN, FL.
12) It really must have hurt the New York Slimes to write this: "As Davos convenes, deference to Trump has replaced everything." Why would that be? I thought the Euros were all powerful. One lib chockesmoker said "This is the end of Davos.' Hallelujah. The WEF, says the Slimes, has devolved into "just a business meeting." Er, Slimes, that's precisely how the stupid WEF started.
IN ILLEGAL CRIMINAL ALIEN NEWS
13) The New York Slimes says the situation in MN is about a "civic ideal" of "nice." Sorry. It's about growing up and dealing with a poisonous corruption and a foreign invasion. Both MN and UT hide behind being "welcoming" and "nice" to avoid confronting unpleasant realities that require government, and the public, to NOT be "nice" but to be adults.
14) The Border Patrol head in MN invited local cops and national guard to join ICE . . . and many did. Meanwhile, Kristi Noem announced over 10,000 arrests of illegals in MN.
15) Seattle's woke poodlenoodle of a mayor is actually sending these little Marxist choadmonkeys to "ICE resistance" camps. Sorry, but this demands and arrest.
16) The border is definitely locked down tighter than a rusty nut, as Customs and Border Patrol say there have been ZERO releases in eight months.
IN CULTURAL NEWS
17) Karens have been replaced by a new term, AWFUL (Affluent White Female Urban Liberals).
IN ECONOMIC NEWS
18) GM's bet on EVs cost it $7 billion already, with no end in sight. The thing is, GM has almost fraudulently been kicking this can down the road by NOT recording these losses in quarterly reports . . . until now. Meanwhile, Jeep just pulled the plug on hybrids.
19) A new geological survey shows there are an additional 1.6 billion barrels of oil and 28 trillion feet of gas remaining in Texas and New Mexico yet to be recovered.
20) Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says it's unlikely the Supes overturn Trump's tariffs.
21) New Kabul (NYC) lost 5,000 businesses last year Just wait til the Amazing Zohran's commie manifesto gets all gassed up.
IN INTERNATIONAL NEWS
22) The ChiComs are going after "systematic corruption," a term when used by commies usually means they are losing control. Meanwhile, the ChiComs say they plan to launch 200,000 satellites, or 10x more than even exist in the world right now. In other ChiCom news, Chy'na's birthrate fell to the lowest since 1949 and the population has declined for the fourth straight year. See? the One Child policy is working.
23) Some number is almost certainly true, but this report of 16,000 killed by the Iranian regime must be as suspect as others. There is simply no more reliable info on this than there is on a Ukrainian battlefield.
24) Trump is serious about Greenland. I repeat, we do not know why---but it is very clear this is viewed in the administration, JUST AS PANAMA WAS UNDER TR, as a strategic necessity. I'm increasingly convinced it has to do with the Golden Dome antimissile defense. At any rate, Trump has increased tariffs on Euros who are obstructing any Greenland deal by 10%. The EU huffs and puffs, sending 30 (!!) soldiers to Greenland (probably now taking up every hotel in the nation), while a new report says the EU is nearly 100% dependent now on a certain nation for all of its gas, having pissed off the Russkies. That nation? Hint: we don't think soccer is "football." Now, however, Euros are making noises about negotiating over the surcharges. Why? I thought those 30 guys they sent to Greenland were da bomb.
25) Hey remember all those troops the Euros sent to "defend" Greenland? Yah, good times. The Huns pulled their 13 guys back out after less than 48 hours.
IN EXTRATERRESTRIAL NEWS
26) The Bank of England is preparing for a financial panic when governments admit there are aliens living among us. No, not these:

IN ENTERTAINMENT NEWS
27) In an aptly named wild wild-card game, the Denver Broncos with QB Bo Nix kicked the poor Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen (who had a bad game) out of the playoffs. I think this is seven straight seasons Buffalo with Allen has been booted short of the Championship Game. He is a Pete Maravich up there---a fantastic talent with no help. Meanwhile, I watched a panel of four or five "experts" on ESPN and every one picked the Houston Texans to win the Super Bowl. Oops. New England advances. Say what you want about NE, but having lost a generational talent like Brady, they quickly rebuilt and are one game away from another Super Bowl.. At any rate, the Billygoats fired coach Sean McDermott. I guess it was either him or Allen, so they chose him.
IN MEDICAL NEWS
29) Here is a review of what happened in OK when the state approved medical marijuana: Chicom mobs moved in with operations. Now the state us using drug-fighting resources to prop up legal marijuana growers by battling their illegal competition.
30) Emails show that the Duo Dynamic Duo of Death, Francis Collins and Dr. Fallacy, tried to suppress data showing natural immunity worked when it came to Covid.
31) A shockingly large number of Chinese have pulminary nodules (i.e., growths in their lungs). Gee, too much coal? Or too much Covid?
32) Speaking of the China Virus, did too much Covid spending fuel drug abuse?
AND FINALLY . . .
34) Famous knuckleball pitcher Wilbur Wood, dead at age 84. I always recall the catchers hated knuckleballers, cuz they never knew where the ball would go. Most ended up using extra-sized mitts.
