HEADLINES: Iran action continues; Runoff in TX for senate seat as Crenshaw loses House race; Clinton reminisces about Eppy photos
The News of Today is the History of Tomorrow
IN POLITICAL NEWS
1) The actions in Iran are aimed at completely eliminating the mullah-led Muslim fundamentalist government there and fomenting a general revolution. This is regime change without boots on the ground. It has worked in the past, it has failed in the past (Libya). In this case, however, Iranians are not Libyans---they are highly educated, many remember the good old days of the Shah, and they are apparently sick from Mullah-itis. There is even a new action toy of the Supreme Leader.

2) Khameini wasn't alone, as Israel took out 90 clerics at a meeting to replace him. Then the U.S. took out the porkroller who was behind the Trump assassination plot. The Financial Times reported that the CIA had a human source inside the Ayatollah's inner circle. And Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said that in their first meeting with the Iranians that they warned him they had 460 kilograms of fissionable material---enough to make 11 nuclear bombs.
3) Iranian opposition, as Jeff Childers points out in yesterday's "Coffee & Covid," has responded by launching ballistic missiles at anything that moves or doesn't move, and most of these are easily shot down. Moreover, the launcher is immediately targeted, and they lose that too. That means the Iranians are losing very valuable (and expensive) resources (missiles) to cheaper drones. Oh, and their navy is gone, too, meaning no more incursions in the Gulf of Hormuz. Drone attacks temporarily shut down Amazon facilities in UAE and Bahrain. Trump also ordered the Development Finance Corporation (who knew we had such a thing?) to provide lower-cost insurance for maritime shippers, and he also said that the U.S. would provide escorts for ships in the Strait. Oh, and remember how brave Spain was going to deny us use of bases for the Iranian shindigs, and how Trump immediately pulled all trade? Yeah, Spain folded.
4) Told ya, but the leftoids in the DemoKKKrat Party are beginning to push Occasional Cortex for president in 2028. I think they will eventually shift to the Amazing Zohran, with her as veep. Meanwhile the level headed guys at "Liberal Patriot" are now contemplating a third party. While they somewhat couch the language, I do believe they are starting to see the handwriting on the wall for the now-going-extinct DemoKKKrats. The Amazing Zohran is warming up by giving free healthcare to all, including illegals. Trying to keep pace, the Oleaginous Butyraceous Gruesome continues to feed the fire of DemoKKKrat Civil War #1 by saying Israel is an "apartheid" state. What, like downtown LA? Then you have the latest survey showing Congressional DemoKKKrats have a 70% DISAPPROVAL.
5) In the primaries, in TX, Cap'n Ron Cringeshaw lost his race after telling MAGA to take a flying leap; Ken Paxton and John Cornhole head for a runoff, as Cornhole led by a few thousand, but third runner up Wesley Hunt had over 200,000 that likely would go to Paxton; the latest Betamale O'Roarke, James Talarico, defeated Jazzy What-a-Crockett for the senate race (and she screamed vote fraud, if that's not rich);
6) The House Oversight Committee released the videos of the Clinton depositions (both Bill and Cankles) and Bill looked entertained as he surveyed the photos of him in hot tubs, naked with young nymphs. His lawyer was "visibly mortified." Oh, and that same House Oversight Committee released a report on MN and concluded Tampon Timmy knew all about the fraud and didn't want to act.
7) Hillsborough Sheriff's Office just conducted a major child sex trafficking sting, arresting 89. It's interesting that this is the FIFTH such major child trafficking sting since Trump's election. Where are they getting the leads? Couldn't be the Eppy files, could it? Meanwhile Pam Bondi reportedly building big cases against members of congress and the federal agencies.
8) The Maryland school districts which bought all those electric busses that didn't work has now given up and is ordering a fleet of diesel busses.
9) Every seat is important. The NY Supes ruled that the state cannot redistrict away the only Republican seat in the state. Meanwhile, a new poll shows the GOP surging by 8 points into a tie with DemoKKKrats for 2026. And TX has criminalized paid ballot harvesting, and the Fifth Circuit upheld TX. Meanwhile, MT Republican Senator Steve Daines will not seek reelection, nor will UT's Burgess Owens (bringing the number of House Rs to resign or announce retirements to 35 compared to only 26 Ds). This should be a safe R seat, however.
10) We'll probably see more of this, as a non-human driver Waymo blocked an ambulance responding to an emergency.
11) State governments are getting into the act, protecting or recovering over $2 billion in fraud. Oh, and speaking of fraud, Dr. Oz has launched a probe of New York's $124 billion Medicaid program. Wanna bet half is fraud? More than one-third (!!) of New York's population is on Medicaid. As Jeff Childers points out in his "Coffee & Covid" column today, the NY Medicaid budget alone is larger than the GDP of many countries. NY's Byzantine hiring non-regs allow non-licensed people to be "aides" and right now there are over 624,000 such "aides" on the gubment payroll. It---"aides" and Medicare---is now the state's largest industry and it's billing Uncle Sam. Congress hauled
12) These disgusting liars will do anything except confront reality. Now IL is trying to reclassify fentanyl overdoses as "poisonings."
IN EPSTEIN FILES NEWS
13) Another Eppy casualty as Magnat Dzhabrailov, who said Ghislaine Maxwell was his "soulmate," committed suicide after his name appeared in the Eppy Files.
IN TRANSOID NEWS
14) The Supreme Court sided with parents over the state of Kollyfornia when it came to trying to keep transoid policies secret. Schools were "changing" the names and pronouns of kids without informing parents. Now that is on hold while the case proceeds.
IN ECONOMIC NEWS
15) Net export soar, imports fall, oil spikes a little---but not like the 70s as output surges. Still, a trade court ordered the administration to begin the tariff refund process, which I'm sure will be an in this hand out with the other affair as other tariffs are imposed.
16) I can't emphasize this enough. Kollyfornia isn't just losing people, it's losing big businesses. Now Valero is eating $1.1 billion so it can leave the Garbage State. Elsewhere in Kollyfornia, a developer is printing 3D houses for sale at $375,000. Yes. Printing houses.
17) Moreover, as Ronald Stein shows, Kollyfornia is becoming an "energy island" with no pipelines and dependence on outside oil, the state is becoming a national security risk. Meanwhile, David Blackmon, the Rush Limbaugh of Energy, argues that the new AES deal provides the infrastructure that has been needed.
IN INTERNATIONAL NEWS
18) Bloomberg: As people rationally return to gas and oil, investors are underestimating the losses that will be coming from green. Meanwhile, Europe's "emission trading system" (ETS) is collapsing. And Euro "Green Steel" is proving to be a joke.
19) Venezuela's crude oil exports doubled under the watchful eye of Uncle Sam, but none for the ChiComs who have just lost TWO major sources of oil in less than three months.. Oh, and guess who's begging Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz? The ChiComs. Pootie-poot is taking this all in, now threatening a total Euro cutoff of natural gas, which would totally screw the green guacamole-dippers at Brussels.
20) Trump cut off all trade with Spain after they refused to let us use bases for strikes against Iran. Then, after bitchslapping Stuttering Kier Starmer, Trump got the Brits to accept U.S. B-2 bombers at UK air bases.
21) The Royal Navy, which at one time dominated the waves, can't even send a ship to Cyprus for another week, and has both its carriers laid up with maintenance and repairs.
22) A U.S. sub sank an Iranian warship by torpedo, the first since WW II.
23) U.S. and Ecuadorian forces engaged in military strikes against narco-lords.
IN ENTERTAINMENT NEWS
24) Actor Bruce Campbell, famous for his roles in the "Evil Dead" series, says he has an incurable but treatable cancer diagnosis.
25) Lou Holtz, the well-liked coach who restored Notre Dame to greatness and won the NCAA title in 1988, dead at age 89.
AND FINALLY . . .
26) Endangered Persian Leopards are making a comeback in Turkmenistan, powered by a wealthy conservationist. As beautiful as lions and tigers are, I have always been partial to panthers of all varieties.
