HEADLINES: Comey hit with new criminal charges; Newsome slithers to the DSA; Developments in gaming portend the "own nothing" campaign is alive

The News of Today is the History of Tomorrow

IN POLITICAL NEWS

1) Maybe this is something after all. First, yesterday the feds charged James "Scrotumtoter" Comey with criminal leaks. while today the FBI has raided the mansion of a major DemoKKKrat donor Steven Kloobeck with ties to Eric "Farticus" Swalwell. Recall that already the feds seized Farticus's phones.

2) Big one: yesterday Seth Keshel's house seat-by-house seat analysis had Rs keeping the decisive AZ1 (Jay Feely) and today he has Rs flipping another decisive seat, that of Marcy Kaptur in OH7. These two, by my count, bring Rs to 214, with Ds at around 210 or 211. That means of the remaining 10 seats, Ds would have to win 8, Rs only 4 and that's not counting any surprise D-R flips, which we may yet see in TX or FL. A pattern has clearly emerged, today seen in IA, where DemoKKKrats heavily front-loaded their 4/4 voters and now are fizzling. IA, AZ, FL, and TX will be safe R. NC performing better, but still lags. Oh, and shocked, I tell ya! The "other" Dan Sullivan on the AK senate ballot was recruited by DemoKKKrat Mary Peltola.

4) A man from Benghazi-by-the-Lake (Chicago) organized hundreds of fake robberies so victims could obtain visas. And another Amish frauster here from Fort Bend County, Carmen Turner (DemoKKKrat) indicted for theft and wire fraud. Once again, it seems only people with Ds after their names do this stuff.

7) The Oleaginous Butyraceous Gruesome apparently has decided he cannot win the 2028 DemoKKKrat Terror Party nomination without joining the DSA, so he is squirming his way towarde that side of the party.

IN CULTURAL NEWS

11) After the Trump administration threatened the Ivy League with withdrawal of funds if they didn't end discriminatory admission practices, the number of Asians at Harvard rose by 43%.

IN ECONOMIC NEWS

13) This is what happens when you let your cities become, as President Trump would say, "s-holes": Portland's hotel, the Royal Sonesta, was purchased in 2016 for $108.3 million, had to be sold for a paltry $6.83 million, a staggering 93% loss. Gee, why wouldn't anyone want property in beautiful riot-torn Portland? Oh, wait. Same chain, same hotel name purchased in New Mogadishu (Minneapolis) for $75 million, selling for $5 million. And speaking of fine cities, New Azteca (LA) is building another train for LAX to ferry passengers between terminals and to parking---except like the idiotic "bullet train," it is two years behind schedule and nearly double the cost already. But as Chris Bray shows, the propaganda organs in LA are fighting "online speculation" and "debunking" "false claims" (that, of course, are true) by saying, "Well, building a train is expensive and complicated. Er, little dogpellets, you do know that Elon Musk manages to build ROCKETS that land themselves, right?

14) You have to see the incredible animated chart of worldwide oil production, with the U.S. on top. David Blackmon says "America is as energy secure as it has ever been despite the blowout in diesel prices. Europe on the other hand faces an entirely different story heading into winter."

15) Oops. Consumer confidence rose 7.5%. Not supposed to happen. "Experts" wrong again, this time by almost 10 points.

IN INTERNATIONAL NEWS

19) Following an incident where four El Salvadoran government aviation techs were killed in Haiti by the gangs, so President Bukele is readying an invasion force. He has been invited by the existing Haitian government, approved by the UN, funding and support from the U.S. government. Haiti is about to get a voodoo flush. Now can we do Brazil? Jeff Childers, whose quips alone are worth reading, said Venezuela got the hard version of U.S. power, Haiti is about to get the outsourced version.

23) Meanwhile, the rest of the world says "NYET!" to extradition requests from Brazil, including Italy, Poland, US,, Argentina, Spain, and Japan. Brazil may have just turned itself into a South-Africa-type pariah state.

24) Benjamin Netanyahu's party will emerge as the leader in Israeli elections but neither party has a majority and whomever leads will have to form a coalition.

IN ENTERTAINMENT NEWS

26) We are seeing a whole generation of actors and actresses and musicians we grew up with depart, the most recent of which is Susan St. James of "Kate and Allie," dead at 80. Likewise, Walter Koenig, "Mr. Checkov" on the original Star Trek, dead at 90.

27) Rocker Donnie Iris only had one big hit, "Ah, Leah," but it was a doozy. He is dead at 83.

28) In the world of gaming, there is a new term, "jailbreaking," which refers to gamers finding ways to escape the limits a vendor places on the device so gamers can no longer own a game, only basically rent it. There is a major fight brewing between gaming communities who modify and essentially change games and the restrictions the companies are putting on the games (see for example, "Tekken 6.") I'm going to refer here to an insightful author who asked for anonymity: All of this ultimately points to a real crossroads gaming is facing these days.  Games by corporate committees struggle to stay relevant and profitable because they are increasing the asking price while not delivering a finished and polished product.  At the same time, other studios are folding by going "too woke" and appealing to almost nobody that comprises their original fanbase." See what happened to Bioware. Companies are trying to move to subscription-only, where people don't own anything ("own nothing and be happy"). All of this has the added overlay of French "students" (now, despite the press's denials, clearly fueled by immigrant rioters) vs. the more stable and controlled Japanese, whom the French view as mysoginistic. There is no question Japan is responding to immigrant problems hence its recent election of an anti-immigration PM. But there ain' riots in Tokyo. At any rate, do not disregard or ignore gaming. It is often a harbinger for the larger cultural issues as we saw with "Gamergate" in 2014 and 2015 which Wiki dutifully portrayed as about "harassment of women." Wrong then, wrong now.
