HEADLINES: Talarico missing; Older, pro-Trump voters showing up; Trump gets deal with Putin for Diesel

IN POLITICAL NEWS
1) With just a month to go in the TX senate election, Talcumpowder Talarico has vanished. Is he transitioning to Talcumpowderina? Some accounts say he has "the flu," which if true has lasted longer than COVID, while others say he had a mental breakdown. It doesn't matter. I don't do polls but several polls show the race tightening, and Paxton's internal poll (take it for what it's worth) has Paxton ahead. Jeff Childers reminds us of a few other politicians who mysteriously disappeared: "In 2009, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford’s office said he was “hiking the Appalachian Trail,” but it turned out he was really in Argentina canoodling with his mistress. In 2012, Jesse Jackson Jr. disappeared for several months for “exhaustion.” It turned out to be bipolar disorder, plus a federal investigation that ended with him in prison." At any rate, I don't think the revelation that Epstein associate Reid Hoffman was a major contributor to Talcumpowder's campaign helped his mental state. By the way, the Texas Tribune was able to track thousands of trips Ken Paxton took, but hasn't been able to even offer a clue where the Talcumpowdered One is.
2) Seth Keshel now has ME2 as a GOP flip, which, if I'm doing his numbers right, would bring the GOP to 213 safe/bullish. .Since 2024, Rs have outregistered Ds in ME by almost 15,000. But then Seth has NJ7, currently held by R Tom Kean, as a D flip, so we're back (as best I can tell) to 212 safe/bullish. Kean pulled a Talcompowder last year and basically vanished for several weeks. Apparently this hurt him with voters. Meanwhile, as I expected, suddenly the pollsters are "discovering" shifts to Rs. Rasmussen finds "older voters" who show up are moving back to Rs. Pollsters are going to have to explain all their hideous polling somehow with these "shifts." Word was that Cook was going to show showing Susan "Tom" Collins pulling away in her race, but then his poll was D Jackson ahead. I think Collins wins this. Anyway, to quote Gomer Pyle, "Surprise, surprise, surprise." In FL, Rs are at near-2024 (a presidential year) in mail-in ballots already. We also see that in early voting numbers for voters under 40, their share has decreased by 7% from 2024, which hurts DemoKKKrats. Likewise, in FL early voting shows no sign at all of any "blue wave." Even worse, 65+ are making up almost three fourths of the voters so far.
3) In one of the wealthiest areas of Kollyfornia, a full 46% say they a planning to leave in the next few years.
5) The Amazing Moron Zohran tried to walk a fine line on Oct. 7 ceremonies and was jeered by the Pale supporters of the Hamas Murder Pirates for not being bloodthirsty enough. In fact, he has dug in with his Oct. 7 speech, where he led off with the death of thousands of Hamas Murder Pirates. THEY WANT YOU DEAD, folks.
6) Cassidy Hutchinson, who claimed before the DemoKKKrat hoax J6 (Patriot Day) committee that Trump had tried to take control of the Presidential limo on January 6, now is under investigation by the DOJ for lying to the committee.
7) Hey, you know that vote fraud that certain Arizona Data Gnus say never happens? Here's yet another: a CT state senator, whom the story says is just one of "a dozen" campaign operatives involved in fraud. These reports come out every week, sometimes multiple times a week, and they are always, always, always the same: DEMOKKKRATS.
8) The Eighth Circuit stepped in to squelch MN"s attempt to curtail free speech under the guise of "election interference."
9) Follow the money. DOJ says Marjorie Taylor Greene suddenly became about $20 million richer after she abandoned Trump and MAGA.
10) President Trump concluded a deal with Russia for 300,000 tons of diesel fuel immediately, another 4.5 million tons over the next couple of months.. Should help out the truckers a little.
11) The FBI broke up an ISIS mass shooting plot at the Mall of America. The Bureau also arrested a key suspect in the "Shiny Hunters" FBI hack. Again, amazing how fast they can move when it's THEM, but can't arrest Brennanski.
IN AI NEWS
12) Ruh roh. A fracture between Hollywood and big tech? This can't be good for DemoKKKrats. The fact is, AI threatens every single film/television production, even unscripted live shows. The best solution--but won't be perfect---will be legislation to protect individual images, voices, persona, and so on. That will be wildly violated and challenged with "nearly identical" images and voices, but it's something. At any rate, a slew of new films is portraying the tech moguls as the villainous robber barons.
IN CULTURAL NEWS
14) Such morons. After awarding a massive new teacher's union contract with a 14% pay increase, New Azteca (LA's) school district will now lay off 6,000. Odd isn't it? That you can afford to pay 1,000 people $100 or 500 people $200, but you can't double the pay for everyone cuz . . well, the money doesn't exist.
15) The Cornell Consensual Sex case that now NY Gov. Hock-a-Lugie and Big Tish James are seeing to turn into a rape case has more twists and turns than "The Beast" roller coaster at King's Island. Now images of the "victim" have surfaced of her doing bodybuilding poses during said rape.
IN ECONOMIC NEWS
16) The administration just bitchslapped several of the largest IT outsourcing firms in the world, including Microsoft, Cognizant, Adobe, and Infosys from its labor certification program because the companies hired furriners instead of Americans. Better put some ice on that, Bill. The move has collapsed the Indian stock market. And look at this Rat, trying to get on the right side of history, as Dinobernie says the H1B system has been "greatly abused." Ya, sorta like the senate seat you held.
17) Here is a great active chart on the top five items of federal government spending since 1940. Most of the time, Defense was #1 or #2, but recently it fell way below Social Security and other social spending, health, and Medicare.
18) Unemployment claims remain below 200,000 for the fourth straight week.
19) Imagine that. When you're cold and shivering in the dark, all of a sudden "Climate Change" isn't that appealing. Now MA's governor is looking to reclaim and restart gas pipelines.
IN INTERNATIONAL NEWS
20) It's the Babylon Bee, but that's funny right there: "French Frantically Search Rioting Mob to Find Someone to Surrender To."
21) Panama has been hit with a 7.6 earthquake.
22) The U.S. has announced criminal sanctions on the International Criminal Court for trying to go after American soldiers for their combat actions in Afghanistan.
24) Chinese employees returned from a national holiday to find their equipment gone and "owners" vanished. (Cuz there are no "owners" in communism except da gubment).
IN ENTERTAINMENT NEWS
25) Mike Ditka, coach of the 1985 Super Bowl champion Chicago Bears, dead at age 86. Ditka also caught a touchdown pass as a TE in Super Bowl VI as a Dallas Cowboy.
26) Bill Gates and other tech bros may not be heroes, but Hollywood's effort to re-cast them as villains isn't flying. Aaron Sorkin's flop, "The Social Reckoning," is on track for a dismal $8m open. What we need is a new, 21st century version of the great book by Burt Folsom on the change-agents in the 1800s, Myth of the Robber Barons.
27) Meanwhile, this new doc, "Generation Covid," sheds light on the horrific damage done by lockdowns and other China Virus "protections."
IN MEDICAL NEWS
28) Bobby Kennedy has begun a vax injury reporting initiative. Hoax News Media deeply saddened that now there will be official numbers beyond VAERS to confirm that vaxxes are dangerous. But more: the new rules allow the gubment to reimburse doctors for the reports and the time it takes to do the paperwork. Now yer talkin, say the docs. Pay us for doing what we should do free!
AND FINALLY . . .
29) Folks, I will be off until October 21. I am on my way to Lubbock, TX to play a rock concert with my high school band mates as a part of my bass player's 75th birthday. Between driving there, rehearsing, and driving back, I won't be able to post a Today's News for over a week. Hang in there. I'll have great stories when I return.
