HEADLINES: 25th Anniversary of 9/11; Trump headlines Dallas convention, promising Americans cash; Is Politico broke?
The News of Today is the History of Tomorrow
Not long after 9/11 I felt the need to tell the grim story that, as of then, was still being somewhat sanitized. I made it into a novel, September Day, which begins with the attacks but then turns into a search for the terror cells and those who financed them. It wasn't bad for a first effort. See it here.

IN POLITICAL NEWS
1) Today is the 25th anniversary of 9/11, and the New York Slimes just doesn't get why it's still a "thing." Obviouslyi, the Amazing Moron Zohran and Occasional Cortex, who were there when the victims' names were being read, were yukking it up and having a good ol' time, because to them nothing bad happened. You know, "some people did something."
2) At the GOP convention in Dallas, Trump promised a "Trump Dividend" if the Rs win the midterms of $5,000 "cash dividend" to every adult citizen. First, I really don't want the gubment giving me money---just take less of what I make. But second, don't we have a debt? I guess if it happens feel free to send it back to the gubment to pay down the debt. Right? Cuz ya'll all will do that, being "principled conservatives." Oh, and PA DemoKKKrat Senator (and last sane D standing in D.C.) John Fetterman Massacre, spoke to the convention sans hoodie. Too soon to gage how effective this convention will be.
3) Pretty big: Politico, one of the approved outlets for the DemoKKKrat Terror Party, did not pay a single employee on Wed., the first time it has ever missed a payroll. Oh, look, Politico was getting USAID money, which has now been cut off. Couldn't be a reason, could it?
4) I was skeptical when AG Todd Blanche named Joe DiGenova as the lead on all the political corruption investigations. Now, just as (some report) they are "accelerating," DiGenova and his wife Victoria Toensing, resigned. Over the years, I have---maybe wrongliy, but I call 'em as I see 'em---put DiGenova in the same box as Sidney Powell, Patrick Burns, Mike Lindell, and everyone else who was absolutely sure machines were to blame for the 2020 fraud. Whenever these people have to put up, all of a sudden they disappear. I'm also growing weary of people taking a high profile job like this for one year. That accomplishes nothing.
5) This should do it for the Missouri Crisis, as the Supes ruled that the MO 6-2 map had to be the one used. This lowers my House projection to 220 from 222 (as I already knocked off Max Miller, though he may come back, and MO is no guarantee for Ds, even in this alignment).
6) This prosecutor said masturbation in front of kiddos was "wrong, but not illegal." You mean as "public endangerment?" "Indecent exposure?" Being an overall scabie-spreader?
7) Courts to the rescue of the chuddlejumpers again, as an IN court rescued the defeated state senator who lost by about 300 votes saying, . . . shades of the U MI win over Western MI. . . "there was still a second on the clock and he won."
8) More election fraud, as a Kollylfornia man was paying skid row people to vote.
9) Another juror in the Lindsay Clancy trial was "shocked" when the male holdout took an exercise band out of his bag and wrapped it around a bottle of water and used it to show what Clancy did. Reality is tough there, isn't it, woke Karen?
10) Muy Macho Marco has fired a State Department employee who was canoodling with the daughter of a ChiCom official.
IN AI NEWS
11) Ten states have paused or canceled data center tax breaks.
12) This is totally Ultron-ish, as Anthropic just blocked a possible attempt by its AI to build biological weapons.
IN ILLEGAL CRIMINAL ALIEN NEWS
13) The DoJ has sued three states and D.C. for illegally admitting, well, illegals into universities with in-state tuition levels.
14) The first ever case in an Alien Terrorist Removal Court . . . removed a terrorist alien.
IN CULTURAL NEWS
15) To say that Jeff Childers has a great column is like saying it's kinda warm in Phoenix in August. Today's is especially good, focusing on the healing that has actually gone on under President Trump. To wit, "We no longer must take our shoes off and walk 25 feet on a dirty concrete floor to board an airplane. Cars are starting to drive themselves. Rap is vanishing from the Top 40. We are building new monuments in DC. The border is shut. The truth about Patriot Act abuses is trickling out." I would add we may now be able to have our friends and loved ones at the airport gates to see us off.
IN TRANSOID NEWS
16) Al ("I'm So In Love With You") Green demands, mind you, demands hormones for transoid ICE detainees.
IN ECONOMIC NEWS
17) Jennifer Sey: everyone is talking about Nike's collapse, but no one is saying a word about Lululemon, whose shares peaked at over $500 in 2023, now are around $100. Annual growth, which was +42% just six years ago, is now -5 to -7%.
19) Core ppi fell again, slightly. We are very slowly containing, but not rolling back, inflation.
IN INTERNATIONAL NEWS
20) Google commits to a $15 billion data center investment in Finland.
21) Probably tip of the iceberg: seven were arrested in Taiwan for a human organ-smuggling ring.
22) As David Blackmon, the Rush Limbaugh of Energy, notes, China has become the first electro superstate and thus every dollar Americans put into electric vehicles pretty much ends up in Chy-na. Also, disruptions caused by Iran have led to a resurrection of coal.
23) I really don't like reporting on any of this, any more than I post about Taylor Swift and that little Kelce boy, but there is a battle between King Chuck and Megxit and the Ginger Duke over whether or not they are ordinary persons or royalty. The King says they definitely are "ordinary presons" and not royalty. Let the games begin.
24) There is an ongoing, still largely failing, move internationally to collect "climate reparations." Boyan Rashev writes "The trend, however, is obvious. Carbon emissions are gradually being transformed from a by-product of economic activity into a historical liability for which somebody must pay"
IN ENTERTAINMENT NEWS
25) A sinkhole swallowed Nicolas Cage's $10 million Malibu mansion. I love Nick, but where did he get $10 million? I thought he had an island and a skull.
26) Two teams thought to be the next Super Bowl participants, the SeaHags and the LA Lambs, had rough openers. The Lambs got crushed by SF, while the SeaHags won a boring 13-10 game but saw their QB Sam Darnold knocked out for at least one more game. In the SeaHags/Patriots game, the boy wonder QB Drake Maye had a terrible outing with 3 interceptions.
IN MEDICAL NEWS
27) Some 29 health systems are dumping Medicare Advantage due to, among other things, high authorization denials.
28) The FDA approved a drug that is doubling the life-spans of pancreatic cancer victims.
AND FINALLY . . .
29) An appropriate story here for 9/11's anniversary and remembering the courageous firefighters who went inside the tower to almost certain death: This EMT ran 1.5 miles up 1,000 feet of elevation to get a blood transfulsion to a stranded climber.
